Custom web application development

DevTeam builds custom web applications for businesses in Romania and abroad: client portals, internal platforms and SaaS products. Our work includes the B2B sales CRM for Medicover Romania, a quoting and shipment-tracking platform for Time Critical Line and SupremeJobs, a US recruitment SaaS that reached 41 companies in its first six months. We have been based in Bucharest, Romania, since 2015.

What we build

Web applications we build

A web application runs in the browser, on any device, with nothing to install. For a business it can replace spreadsheets and email chains between departments, or become the product you sell.

Client and partner portals

Your clients and partners get their own accounts to see quotes, orders, statuses and documents, instead of asking for every detail by phone or email.

Example: at Time Critical Line, quotes are sent to clients automatically and shipments are tracked in real time.

Internal platforms: back office, approvals, reporting

Workflows built around how your company actually works, with roles and access rights, reports, KPIs and an audit log for every action.

Example: the Medicover CRM, with daily and weekly KPIs for the sales teams.

SaaS products

Platforms used by many companies, each with its own account, subscriptions and online payments. They can start as an internal tool and grow into a product.

Example: SupremeJobs, from an internal recruitment tool to an AI-powered SaaS (case study in Romanian).

Booking and scheduling platforms

Search, real-time availability, customer accounts, online payment and email and SMS notifications, with an admin panel for your team.

Example: the Paralela 45 booking platform, integrated with Eurosite.

Web applications with a mobile app and API

A web platform for administration and a mobile app for end users, built together, plus the API they communicate through.

Example: ELMotion, for charging station operators and electric vehicle drivers.

Self-service kiosk applications

The application that runs on the kiosk and its integrations with existing systems: card payment, cash registers, appointments.

Example: Medicover e-Reception, check-in in under 30 seconds, in 3 clinics in Bucharest.

Connecting your systems

Integrations

A web application rarely works alone. These are integrations we have built in delivered projects, with the project they come from.

Online payments

  • Stripe
  • EuPlătesc
  • Netopia
  • POS terminal

Subscriptions through Stripe at SupremeJobs, card payments through Romanian processors at Paralela 45 and POS payments at the Medicover e-Reception kiosk.

Marketplace, invoicing and couriers

  • eMAG Marketplace
  • Saga
  • Couriers (API)
  • MailChimp

At Zenda and Angrozenda: products, orders and stock synced with eMAG, invoicing integrated with Saga and automatic courier selection.

Booking, appointments and cash registers

  • Eurosite
  • Appointment system
  • Cash registers

Prices and seats from Eurosite for Paralela 45. At Medicover, the kiosk talks to the appointment system in real time, and payments reach the cash registers.

Third-party APIs and hardware

  • Lufthansa API
  • OCPP 1.6

Shipment tracking through the Lufthansa API at Time Critical Line, and communication with charging stations over OCPP 1.6 at ELMotion.

Notifications and AI

  • SMS
  • Email
  • GPT

SMS notifications at Time Critical Line, email and SMS at Paralela 45. At SupremeJobs, AI builds the profile from the CV and scores the match with every job.

Process

How we work

We start from your process, not from a template. We work in stages, with demos along the way, so you can see the application take shape and change direction early if needed.

  1. 01

    Discovery

We go through your processes, your users and the systems the application has to talk to.

  2. 02

    Estimate and quote

You get a cost and time estimate, broken down by module. The quote is free.

  3. 03

    Design

Wireframes and visual design for the main screens, approved by you before development starts.

  4. 04

    Development in stages, with demos

We build the application module by module and show it to you along the way, online.

  5. 05

    Testing

We check workflows, access roles and integrations before launch.

  6. 06

    Launch and training

We put the application into production and train the people who will use it.

  7. 07

    Maintenance

After launch: technical support, updates and new features.

Working with us from abroad

A development team in Romania, working remotely with you

Romania is an EU member state, and Bucharest is one hour ahead of Central European Time. This is what working with us looks like when you are not in Romania.

Overlapping time zone

Bucharest is on EET (UTC+2, UTC+3 in summer). Our working day overlaps fully with Central and Western Europe and partly with the US East Coast.

In English

With international clients, specifications, demos and day-to-day communication are in English.

Online demos

You see the application during development, not only at the end, and can adjust priorities without travelling.

EU company, GDPR

We are a Romanian company, so EU data protection rules apply to our work from the start.

The team was serious, smart and proactive and the platform was developed fast and well.

Stack

Technologies

Our main framework for web applications is Laravel (PHP), with MySQL for data and REST APIs for integrations. We choose the infrastructure per project: SupremeJobs, for example, runs on AWS, with its database on RDS MySQL.

  • Laravel
  • PHP
  • MySQL
  • REST API
  • JavaScript
  • jQuery
  • Bootstrap
  • AWS

When the project also needs a mobile app, we build it together with the web platform, as we did for ELMotion (the app for EV drivers) and SupremeJobs (the iOS app).

Budget and timeline

How much it costs and how long it takes

Every web application is different, so we estimate cost and time module by module, once we understand what the application has to do. These are the factors that matter most.

Complexity

How many modules, screens and workflows the application has.

Integrations

Payments, marketplaces, accounting, couriers, third-party APIs or hardware.

Roles and access rights

How many user types there are and what each of them can see or approve.

Existing data

Importing or migrating data from spreadsheets or from an older application.

Mobile app

Whether your users also need an app on their phones.

Maintenance

Support, updates and new features after launch.

The timeline depends on the same factors. We can launch the core modules first and add the rest in stages, the way SupremeJobs grew from an internal tool into a SaaS product.

The quote is free

After a first call about your project, we send you a cost and time estimate. To make it as accurate as possible, it helps to tell us:

  • which process you want to digitise
  • who will use the application
  • which systems it has to connect to

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Yes. SupremeJobs, for example, was built for Supreme Jobs LLC, a US company, and the platform serves the US, the UK and Europe. We collaborate remotely, in English, with online demos during development.

Source code ownership and access are set out in the contract, before development starts. Tell us in the first call what you need, for example access to the code or a transfer of rights, so we can include it in the quote.

We choose the hosting together, based on traffic, the data involved and your budget: a dedicated server, a VPS or a cloud provider. SupremeJobs, for example, runs on AWS. We discuss the right option during the analysis phase.

Yes. After launch we provide maintenance and technical support: fixes, updates and new features. What maintenance includes and our response times are set out in the contract.

In the analysis phase we define what personal data the application processes, who can access it and how long it is kept. Technically, that means roles and access rights (up to 10 levels at Time Critical Line) and an audit log of user actions, as in the Medicover CRM. Each party's data protection obligations are set out in the contract.

We can assess it first: we review the code, the infrastructure and the documentation, and tell you what can be continued, what should be rebuilt and how much effort it takes. We decide together how to proceed after that review.

Yes, when the project needs one. For ELMotion we delivered the web platform for operators and the mobile app for drivers, and for SupremeJobs, the web platform and the iOS app.
